Star Learner

The Kids school does a special assembly each week and each class has a star learner who the teachers choose. On Valentine's Day, when I got to the school with the kids, they told me that Alissa was their class' star learner for the week. I was so excited for her! She has a hard time sometimes getting ready for school and going to school. They always tell me she is fine when I am gone and does great, but we have such hard mornings.... We have been working really hard with her on rewarding good behavior in the mornings and not throwing fits and getting ready on time. She has done really good with putting a sticker on her chart at home every day that she gets ready on time with no fits! Then she got this, so exciting!! We were so proud of her:)

They don't always dress as pirates and princesses for school, they were studying pirates and princesses and having a party that day, so all the kids in her class dressed as pirates or princesses. She has awesome teachers and they are always studying fun topics! The teachers go by what the kids are interested in at the time and the subjects all involve that topic. It's such a great way to help them learn because they are all so excited about the topic they don't realize they are learning letter sounds, reading, math, and other things while they are learning about that topic. I will miss this school.
