Corfe Castle

Grandma's last weekend here we decided to go on a trip. Grandpa Jones looked up some ancestors for us and realized they were burried in Corfe Castle! We thought that sounded really neat and looked up the castle on the internet. It looked like a really cool castle. So we packed up and headed out, Jones style! We finally got a place booked literally as we were walking out the door. It seems like some of our best trips are completely spontaneous. We don't really know what the plan is until a few minutes before we walk out the door. This was no exception. All we knew was where we wanted to go. We tried finding a hotel, but they were too expensive by the time we paid for 2 rooms. So we tried holiday rental houses and couldn't find any available. Finally just before we walked out the door to drive down there we found a Holiday Park to stay at.

It was perfect! The Holiday Parks are like trailer parks. There are a bunch of trailers you stay in and they usually have pools, entertainment and parks. The trailer we stayed in had 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a living room and kitchen. We love places like this because we all fit, we can cook our own food and the kids have room to move around. We only paid 70 pounds a night, which is what 1 hotel room costs. Because our family is bigger than most families in England we would have to pay for 2 hotel rooms.

We enjoyed touring Corfe Castle the castle and Corfe Castle the town. We didn't see any of our ancestors graves, but it was fun knowing that they lived in the area, or at least were buried there. Grandma, the kids and I rode the train from Corfe Castle to Swanage where we had lunch. Then we headed back to the trailer to relax and swim. Remi was really bummed that she couldn't swim:( After swimming we got dressed ate some dinner then went to play the 2p games and see a magic show. By the time we got back for bed the kids were exhausted! They all fell asleep fast.

The next morning, Sunday we woke up and went to sacrament meeting in one of the wards down where we were staying. There was a baby blessing while we were there. The baby girl's Grandpa or someone older blessed her and it was a bunch of older men in the circle. It was so cute because after the blessing each of the men kissed her on her head. I thought it was really sweet.

After church we headed to the coast and walked a trail that went along the coast and we saw some really pretty rock formations! It was lots of fun, a little chilly though. It wasn't as cold as the day before, but it wasn't warm either!

Poor Blake was injured from a soccer game and couldn't walk very well. Parker fell asleep in his arms, so he just layed down in the grass by the trail while we walked down to the beach. When I was walking back to where he was I could hear some people on the trail above where we were talking about him laying in the grass. They were wondering what he was doing and if he was really asleep. So, I decided to have some fun with it. I walked sneakily towards him with my camera and took a bunch of pictures getting really close. I was right in his face taking pictures. I could hear them the whole time talking about what I was doing, how close I was getting and what I was wearing(I had Kelsi in our front carrier with a bright flowered blanket over here to keep her warm. Looks funny, but keeps her warm). Then Blake woke up and I sat with him talking. They realized I knew him and moved on, but I had a good laugh just listening to them.

When we came down from that hike we walked a different way to a beach and just let the kids play for a while collecting shells, finding creatures in the tide pools and throwing rocks. Parker could throw rocks forever!

We love visiting the coast and love it even more when it is warm!
