Seals and Cromer

We had a fun day with friends on June 30th. We headed up to Blakeney to see the seals again. When we got there the kids found this awesome mud to play in! By the time I caught up to them they had already been running in it, so I just let them. We went with the Hatch Family, Constance Toaw(Sister Towel according to Alissa) and we were watching the Ingersoll kiddos, so we had them too. Fun group!

After we got the mud all cleaned off we got on the boat to go see the seals. The kids loved the boat ride, especially when the waves splashed them. They would laugh and laugh!

After driving by all the seals they took us to this Island and dropped us off for a while. The kids had fun playing hide and go seek and finding things on the beach.

After we got off the boat we drove the Cromer beach. It was pretty late in the day and not super hot, but the kids got in the water anyway!

The Sunset at Cromer Beach
We didn't end up leaving the beach until about 9:30. We had an hour drive home and all the kids fell asleep. Not the best idea on a Saturday night when everyone needs baths for church for Sunday. Blake did good though. I had a meeting Sunday morning, so he was on his own. We gave most the kids baths on Saturday night. Sunday morning I left at 7:30 and Blake made it on time for church with all 7 kids! I was impressed.
This is how Broden and Avery were sleeping when we got home. They were exhausted!

Sports Day and Baseball

We put Remi and Broden in Tee ball and coach pitch baseball this year and they have done great! Once they got the hang of a metal bat they have become really good hitters and are both getting better at catching and throwing.

Baseball makes for busy weeks. We had a crazy schedule for a couple weeks. Mondays Broden had baseball and Blake soccer, Tuesdays Remi and Broden Piano and Jenny Tennis. Wednesday's Remi's baseball games and Blake soccer. Thursday, Remi baseball practice and Jenny tennis. It was fun to do all the activities, but a little too crazy for me.

Remi's first out
When Remi was playing in her first game someone hit the ball towards her. She was playing 3rd, so she ran up and got the ball then ran back and touched her base and got the runner out who was running to 3rd. They don't always play by all the rules at this age, because of feelings getting hurt, but this boy knew he was out, so he left back to his bench. The look on Remi's face was priceless. She knew she had done something good and was so excited, but she was trying really hard to not let that show.

One week in school Remi and Broden had a sports day at school. They did a bunch of different activities and kept score between the "families" in the school. The families are Water, Fire, Air and Sun. Remi and Broden are in the Fire family. It was fun to see them compete in all the events. Then at the end they had a little track meet where they raced the other kids their age. They even had a race for the moms and dads. I raced! I don't remember racing someone like that. It's been a while. Remi and Broden both did great! We got to have a picnic lunch with them after their sports day. It was a fun day for all of us.

Wrest Park

The Jones' last Saturday here we headed to Wrest Park. When we got there we toured the inside of the house, then when we came outside it started pouring. So we headed towards the car. It stopped raining after that, so we hung out at the playground, then went walking through the gardens. It was amazing and so relaxing. I'm glad the weather cleared up so we could enjoy it!

After Wrest Park we wanted to try sum pub food. We drove around for a while, then headed to Bedford and found a really nice pub. We all ate some yummy food and headed home to rest up for church. Wish we would have taken a picture showing us in Bedford, England to send to all our friends in Bedford, Ohio!
