First day of school

The first day of school was kind of like this....

Remi was up, showered, piano and reading done and ready to go, I think before it was even 7:45! Alissa on the other hand.... She didn't like the first out fit, so we tried another. Eventually she decided the dress with a button up shirt was acceptable(She wore the same style of dress and shirt every day for the first 2 weeks of school). Then she didn't like the shoes, but decided it was ok to wear them, because they were like Remi's. She did agree to put the sweater on, for a picture and hasn't worn it since then. Luckily she wasn't going to school until after lunch for the first week, so she was happy and ready to go by the time we took her.

Happy #5 Alissa!!!

We celebrated Alissa's birthday party on Sunday September 15th, after church and after we got Broden home from the hospital. Alissa got to have an awesome day, thanks to our dear friends.

First she slept over at her bestest friend, Livi's house. They fixed her cinnamon rolls and orange juice for breakfast, then she got to go to church with them. I felt so bad not being with her on her birthday, but she was happy to be with Livi. After church, Hatch's and Ingersoll's came over for her party. Again, our friends saved the day, Kim made her birthday cake for her and she absolutely loved it!!!

Alissa loves having friends over and loves opening presents. She is such a sweet girl and continues to love sharing. She always shares her treats with her friends and thinks about others. When she decides to help, she is a really good helper. She will clean her room, the toy room and anything else she can! We love it. She still loves Livi and always wants to be with her. It was hard for her when Livi was gone all summer. She would get a snack, or treat and immediately put some in a little bag for Livi. It took her a whole month to get used to the idea that she couldn't save things like cookies, and ice cream for when Livi came back:)

Alissa loves her brothers and sisters and especially loves helping with Kelsi. She likes to carry her around and play with her. She also loves playing with Parker on the swings, school with Remi and anything with Broden. They are hit and miss though. Sometimes they are the best of friends and have so much fun together, but sometimes they just fight and fight. She was so excited for him to come home on her birthday though!

All the party kids! Rilyn, Shaylee, Avery, Remi, Kelsi, Quincy,
Broden, Alissa, Livi, Parker, Andrew and Noah!

She wanted to do cake and ice cream first, then open presents. So, thats what we did! She loved all her presents. Blake picked out presents for her while I was at the hospital. He did great! She loved the toys from friends and grandparents too. She was one spoiled girl and enjoyed every minute of it.

Cornwall

We had one last long weekend before school started, so we decided to go to Cornwall with 2 other families in our ward. We were babysitting Hatch's, but it worked out just fine! The kids had so much fun going camping with friends.

We were hoping for really hot tropical weather, but it was in the 60's. Not quite the best weather for playing on the beach all day. We did have fun exploring the beach, playing freeze tag and frisbee, making fires, swimming(at the indoor pool), collecting shells and beach glass and discovering the tip of the Island.

We drove down to Land's End and walked around. It was really pretty. We even got some cornish Ice cream. Then we headed around and up the other side of the tip of England. We stopped in a cute little town for fish and chips and walked around.

We had tons of fun and are so grateful we have so many friends we can have fun with!
