Idaho part 4- the 4th

Waiting for the parade
4th of July we got up and got ready amidst all 30 college students that were laying EVERYWHERE at my parents house. They were on every surface of the floor, couches, beds, grass and trampoline. I thought it was great! It reminded me of when we used to always have people in our ward in Colorado stay with us, or when my sister's used to have all their college friends over.

After we got ready we headed to the parade. They shortened it this year and it was much better. The weather was perfect and we had lots of fun. I even knew someone in the parade this year. Cindy was on the student Government float.

The flag match!
Following the parade we headed to Freeman park for a picnic with the Jones family and their family friends. This has been their tradition forever. Some of the adults played volleyball while the kids played and the rest of the adults chatted. It was fun to catch up with all the family friends.

That afternoon we got to go visit one of Blake's high school friends Jason Reeder and his wife and baby. Then we headed to Julie and Nate's. There were so many yummy desserts and of course Grandma and Grandpa DD(My parents) made home made ice cream. My family doesn't have lots of traditions we do every year. I always joke with Blake that my family's tradition is to do something different every year. I didn't mind this at all growing up. I LOVE doing new things. We do have one tradition though. I remember this from way back in Colorado when we used to have like the whole ward over on the 4th of July. My parents make home made ice cream. They make a batch of Raspberry and a batch of butterfinger. We had this at Julie and Nate's house that night and as always it was delicious!!!
