Parker

Not to brag about our 2 month old baby, but he is such a good baby. Last night he went to sleep about midnight, we were watching a movie and just kept him up with us. He slept until 6:45am, ate and went back to sleep until 10. This is normal for him. The night before he went to sleep at 11 and woke up at 7:45. I love it! I hope he keeps up the good sleep habits.

We went to his 2 month doctor appointment and he is 11 pounds 14 ounces, 34%. That is crazy to us. Remi was off the charts for weight until she turned 1. I know Broden and Alissa were at least 13 pounds by the time they were 2 months old. Oh well, maybe it is because he doesn't eat all night. I don't mind that he is smaller. He is still very healthy and they say perfectly normal. I agree, I haven't seen anything to worry about. I love having a little baby in the house. Something about the feeling of innocence they have.

Updates!

If anyone has noticed I have been updating a lot more frequently. I love for people to read it, but it is really more for our family, or me. I have a horrible memory and if my kids inherit that from me I want them to be able to have some kind of record of things they said and did. I don't remember much from my childhood:( If I think really hard some things come back to me, or if I look at pictures memories will come. So I thought if I keep this updated with thoughts and pictures my kids will have something to jog their memories. Also I think I will like looking back at it when I get older and forget things that happened.

Remi

Last week Remi came home from school and told me to go upstairs because she was going to do a prise(Surprise) for me. I came upstairs and she cleaned the WHOLE basement, which is the toy room. It gets really messy and she cleaned it up all by herself. Then I was in her room changing Parker's diaper and she asked me to leave so she could do a prise in her room. I left and she cleaned her whole room. She was so happy and excited to show me what she had done. Usually it is hard to get her to clean up the messes they make, but this one day she was so happy to do it. I wonder how I can get her to have a desire to "Prise" me every day.

Remi continues to love school. Yesterday I asked her about her day and she said they have a new girl. I asked her name and Remi said it is Angel cake. Hmmmm....... Do they really have a new girl? So then I asked about her. Remi said she has brown hair and was wearing a gold shirt. Maybe Remi just got the name wrong. Maybe her name is Kate and the teacher called her Angel Kate or something like that. It is funny to me that Remi has been going to school for 5 months and still can't tell me the names of kids in her class. She mostly talks about James. She tells me they are going to get married. She even told me that she gave him a kiss. I started to panic, but hid it pretty well. Then she said,"like this" and blew a kiss:) That was a relief. I tried to tell her you only kiss people you love and she said she does love James. I said well you only kiss people you have known for a long time and you love and want to marry. She insists that she has known James a long time and she loves him and is going to marry him. SHE IS 5! I hope she isn't already starting her boy craziness. I would prefer her to just be friends with the boys.

Almost ever day after school Remi comes home with a treat for being good. Her teacher always writes comments or notes in emails or report cards about how good of a listener Remi is and how she is good at helping. They have a system where if they do something wrong they get their card flipped. Remi likes to tell me she has never had her card flipped, or had to walk the wall at recess. I think it is funny that they have them walk the wall. I remember when I was in elementary school if we got in trouble we had to sit on the wall and couldn't play. That probably caused more problems because we couldn't get our wiggles out and then had to go sit in the class room. If they have to walk the wall at least they are getting some energy out. Maybe they should have them run laps around the play ground. Then they won't have any energy to be bad:) Anyway, I love hearing about Remi's days in school and am so proud of what she is learning and that she is such a good student.

Broden

Broden continues to say the cutest things.
"You're the best mommy(daddy) I ever had." or
"You're the best mommy(daddy) ever!" Sometimes he yells it out, other times he whispers it in our ears.

On Monday him and Alissa were having so much fun playing "Mommy Daddy" together. Broden had Blake's shoes on and Alissa was wearing mine. They had a doll and Alissa was carrying around a purse. I could hear them in the basement for like and hour playing like that. I kept hearing Broden say, "Mom," then he would yell,"Not you, Alissa." I think he got tired of me yelling, "What" when he wasn't talking to me.

Then when they came up for lunch I asked Broden to say the prayer. Here are some of the things he said,
"Heavenly Father thank thee we get to play Mommy Daddy. I the daddy I wear daddy shoes cause that's how you play and Mommy's wear mommy shoes and thatk you for mommy daddy lissa remi and parker their the best ones ever, and the food the best ever and Jesus the best ever and Santa the best ever."

I thought this was so cute. His prayers are always fun to listen to. You can generally tell where he is when he is praying and that his eyes are open because he says he is grateful for things like, the garbage can, plates, forks, spoons, bowls, kitchen tables, chairs, couches, lights, fans, salt and pepper, ranch etc. Pretty much whatever is in front of him. I love it!

Photography

So we have had a nice camera for quite a while and I decided to try to learn how to use it:) Especially since I have such a cute victim that can't run from me yet. I would like any suggestions to improve this picture. Is it good, ok not good etc... Also what would I do in photoshop to make a picture look better. Any input would be great!

Ice skating

On New Year's Day an ice rink here had a special for family night. We paid $12 dollars and it was entrance, skates, popcorn and a drink for 5 people. We had so much fun! We went with a couple other families from our ward and the kids loved it. It was nice that they had the metal things to hold on to. I would say that it does kind of hinder them from learning to skate though. They just depend on that and don't learn to do it themselves. Next time I think I'll try to get them to do it without the metal thing. I got them to each try it without it for a little while and they actually did pretty well. It is kind of funny/sad that when they start to get scared they panic and their feet start to go like 100 miles an hour even though they aren't going anywhere, then they loose their balance and fall. If they would calm down instead of panic they could regain their balance every time. Just funny to watch. I was surprised at how well they did. We will probably do this again if they have another family night that isn't a Sunday.

Blake and Parker were there too. Blake and I traded hanging out in the lounge area with Parker and Alissa(she only lasted 15 minutes on the ice). I guess I didn't take any pictures of him skating. He was there though and he enjoyed it more than he thought he would:)

Blessing Day

This is about how blessing day went!

We have always liked blessing our babies in our home ward, where our records are. So we decided to bless Parker the first Sunday of the year. I tried to get everything ready on Saturday because our church was changing to 9:00am instead of 1:00pm. This would be a huge adjustment. So Sunday morning came and the alarm clock went off at 6:30. I was sooo tired, so I told Blake to turn it off and set the alarm on my phone. Next think I know I wake up and it is 8:15. I jump out of bed to get ready and we all run around like crazy trying to get everyone ready. At 8:55 we are trying to decide if we should go ahead and bless him or do it the next week. Big dilemma, we were kinda late to bless him that day, but weren't early enough to tell the bishopric that. They were planning on it. I didn't know what to dress Parker in because I didn't want him in his outfit if we weren't blessing him and didn't want them to announce we were blessing him and not have him in his outfit. So I just said, let's do it. So we dressed him in his blessing outfit and got everyone in the car and to the church.(luckily we only live 2 blocks from church). We walked in as the counselor in the bishopric was saying,"I guess, that's all the ward business...(pause). So we'll do the stake business now." Great! I peeked my head into the chapel and he saw me, so I nodded to him. We all went and sat down and after the stake business Brother Roblyer got back up and said we will actually be having another baby blessing. Blake took Parker up and game him a beautiful blessing. I was worried that after a frantic morning he wouldn't be able to feel the spirit very well, but as usual he did an amazing job. His testimony and spirituality are some of the biggest reasons I married him. After the blessing I went to the bathroom with Remi to blow her nose and my 2nd cousin Shana walked in. She had come up for the blessing! Her and her daughter Lauren came for lunch and we had fun visiting. I hadn't seen her for like 10 years. She lives in Lincoln, so we are only like 45 minutes away.

At the end of church when we went to get our kids from their primary classes I got a slip of paper asking if Remi and Broden could be the reverence children the next week. Our ward has 2 kids from primary go up by the pulpit 10 minutes before sacrament meeting starts and fold their arms to remind everyone to be reverent. I laughed and decided it was their way of helping us be on time the next week:) Then later that week Blake got asked to speak in church too. So the next Sunday we were 15 minutes early. It was much more relaxing to get there early.
